Brother Savage - Sir Dan Godfrey and his Peers

A Celebration of the Life and Work of a Renowned British Conductor

The David Lloyd George Room, The Savage Club, 1 Whitehall Place London, Greater London SW1A 2HD
Thursday 10 July

Born into one of Britain’s legendary musical families, Dan Godfrey became a leading figure in this nation’s music-making. Although known principally as a conductor – he founded the Bournemouth Municipal Orchestra - his national prominence was due also to his countless number of arrangements for Military Band.

In company with Sir Dan’s family we remembered him this evening through the medium of his band arrangements together with works of composers he championed to whom he often became a friend and mentor.
